Overview
Smart School needed to run multiple schools from one platform without the costs of separate deployments. I designed a multi-tenant ERP where each institution gets its own isolated data, branding and user roles — on shared infrastructure.
The system handles the daily reality of school administration: fees, attendance, exams, communication and reporting, all in one place.
The challenge
School administration involves many people, strict deadlines and money changing hands. The platform had to be accurate, permission-aware and simple enough for non-technical staff.
- Fee collection tracked in registers — slow, error-prone and hard to audit.
- Attendance and exam records scattered across departments.
- No consolidated reporting for administrators or parents.
- A need to serve many schools without duplicating infrastructure.
What I built
A single codebase serving many tenants, with role-based access for admins, teachers, accountants and parents.
- Multi-tenant architecture: isolated data and configuration per school.
- Fee management: collection, receipts, dues tracking and full audit trails.
- Attendance & exams: daily records, marks entry and automatic report cards.
- Role-based access: granular permissions for every type of user.
